VALLEYS AND VILLAGES

Devizes and District Motor Club will organise the Valleys and Villages Classic Tour on Sunday, the 7th August 2016. The event will start and finish at the George Inn at Longbridge Deverill, BA12 7DG, on the A 350 just south of Warminster, OS ref:183/869408
The event is open to all vehicles produced before 1986 and other vehicles at the organisers discretion. The maximum number of entries is 50. The minimum number is 20. Should this minimum number not be reached, then the organisers reserve the right to cancel the event whereupon all entry fees received will be returned.
The event is open to all paid up members of Devizes and District MC, and all invited Clubs. In addition, members of the public are welcome to participate. The event is part of the Historic Rally Car Register (HRCR) Scenic Tour series. The event is a touring assembly and will comprise a scenic drive along 100 miles of the beautiful scenery of the south of Wiltshire and North Dorset. The route will be described in a roadbook using ‘Tulip’ diagrams of junctions at specified mileages with written description of junctions, together with OS 1:50,000 based road maps. The road book will also include notes on places of interest along the way. In addition, ‘treasure hunt’ type quiz will also be included for those who wish to take part and keep any accompanying children and passengers amused! The route will be on 1:50,000 OS maps 183,184, 194 and 195.
The programme of events will be:
Signing on from 09.00 with coffee/tea and bacon roll
First car will start at 10.00
First car will return to The George Inn after 15.30 for a carvery meal.
The event is not timed - other than overall for the convenience of the caterers, and no element of speed or timing will be considered as part of the event. Entrants should satisfy themselves that their insurance covers them for such a tour and will be required to sign a statement to that effect. All vehicles will be required to have a current V5 registration document and, where appropriate, a current MoT test certificate. These will be inspected at signing on.
The entry list opens on the publication of these regulations and closes on Wednesday 27th July 2016. The entry fee is £75 per car (crew of 2) with additional passengers at a cost of £18 each. A discount of £5 applies to members of the organising club and members of the HRCR. The fee includes entry to the event, roadbook, coffee and bacon roll at the start, morning coffee/tea en route, and a carvery meal in the evening at the finish. Entries by post or BACS are acceptable.
