2013 Budget - Classic Car Road Tax Exemption rolls on a year
In the March 2013 Budget it was announced that from April 2014 the cut-off date for road tax exemption will be changed from the 1st of January 2013 to the 1st of January 2014.
This is great news for Classic car owners and hopefully it may lead to a 'rolling' scheme, fingers crossed on that one.
The official announcement is as follows:
2.148 VED: classic vehicle exemption
The Government will extend the cut-off date from which classic vehicles are exempt from VED by one year. From 1 April 2014 a vehicle manufactured before 1 January 1974 will be exempt from paying VED. (Finance Bill 2014)
